Ok- We're asking for some opinions or advice...As many of you know Derek and I are moving up north hopefully around May. We are having a hard time with some choices, should we rent or buy? We have found some townhomes that the monthly payment might be maybe $100 more than an apartments rent...and with a town home it's our own home and we gain equity, however we are concerned about the resale problem in a few years down the road when we do want to buy and actual house are we going to be stuck? I don't know. I would much rather put my money to good use and not just put it towards rent, but we are trying to decide if it is a wise choice to buy right now. We have been advised that buying is smart since the market is so down...I'm just worried for when it goes up again will people buy from us? Any advice from anyone would be appreciated!!!!! Hope everyone is doing just wonderful

hey girl there are so many houses down here that are as much as a town home, so maybe you could look at those, i could help you if you want. But i would buy something rent is a waste of money and i bet the market will go up after a couple of years, so its the perfect time to buy:)
I would buy. Shawn and I have saved so so so much money in the long run because we bought. We have 70,000 worth of equity.
Well it seems you have gotten the same advice that me and Morgan would give you. The market WILL go up... and you will be able to sell. No doubt about it. Plus right now if you buy a house you get a $8,000 refundable credit. Meaning, you get $8,000 in cash for buying a house! Last year you only got $7,500 and you had to repay it over a period of time. You DO NOT have to pay it back. BUY BUY BUY!! When we get a job, we are going to seriously look into buying!
Looks like you should buy...i'm definately NOT the person to ask about that though....if you ever need advice on a doctor or hospital or anything though let me know :) j/k i'm so excited for you 3 to move up here!! It's gonna be fun!!

Everyone else has given good reasons, but my favorite is that you actually get to paint and decorate how you want. :) No white walls.
