Wow some Disney pictures

Wow our computer is having major picture issues so I just wanted to post some pictures now that I finally was able to upload some, not all but some of our awesome Disney trip 4 months ago. It was soooooo much fun, I can't wait to go again. Linnea was afraid of most the rides at first because the first ride we went on was pirates and she hated it, so any ride that was dark or loud she would cry, except stinking small world. Andrew was amazing, he didn't cry at all and I think he loved grabbing all the characters noses. We have gone the week after Thanksgiving for two years now, and I will NEVER go in the summer again or really any other time. The weather is perfect and lines, what lines. I think the longest wait was 25 minutes. It was awesome. Sorry for the delay and lack of pictures, I wish I knew what was going on with the computer, o well. Enjoy.

My new invention

Well I am changing some major habits in our house. I've been reading a book called "Disease Proof Your Child", it's the same doctor that wrote the book "Eat to Live" which was the plan that helped me lose all my weight plus some after Linnea was born. Well I wanted to teach my kids what truly healthy eating was when they were young, Linnea already is catching on, she tells me when she's playing with her kitchen set that she's going to make a healthy lunch to make her big and strong. She also tells me that her vegetables and fruit are now healthy for her, she still will initially not want to eat green things, but after awhile if she sees us making a big deal about how good they are she'll eat them. Anyways Derek has even joined in which is a big deal Derek loves his butter, ice cream, and sweets. Well last night I wanted to make some granola bars so I kind of invented some, they ended up not sticking together so I just made it into granola. It was really good, Derek said they tasted like crumbled up no-bakes (even though there was hardly any chocolate) so I thought I'd share my little recipe. I tried following someones recipe, but I had to make my own twist on it. So here is the super food granola:

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup all natural peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cup oats
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup roughly chopped cashews
3 tsp chia seeds (super food)
2 tsp ground flax seed (super food)
2 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
1/4 cup whole buckwheat groats (optional)
crushed dark chocolate (optional)

Pre- heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt first three ingredients together for 45 sec. Combine all other ingredients. Mix in melted peanut butter mixture. Pour into 8x 8 baking pan bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown on top. I really liked it. I used it for my cereal this morning with almond milk, and fresh raspberries, yum. Well here's to healthy eating!!!!

Halloween Festivities

O my goodness we had a busy Halloween season. So it will be several pictures. First it starts with a family party at my mom's house

This included Papa reading to the kids the all time cutest book ever "Goodnight Goon" it's a Halloween spin off of "Good night Moon" and I practiced my baking skills and whipped up a pumpkin shaped cake...I thought it' turned out ok and I was told it tasted great, (I didn't try it since I knew how much butter was in it :) ) If you can't tell Derek and I are Bonnie and Clyde and Andrew is a puppy with Nea as Cinderella.

Next we went to our ward party....

We had a lot of fun and felt a little awkward bringing guns in to the church, but o well...Linnea was able to experience her first trunk or treat and loved to spend another night dressed up as Cinderella. Drew was as chill as ever and just loves watching people especially everyone dressed up so funny.

The next weekend before Halloween we had Crystal and Charles over with their kids to make Halloween shirts and watch a scary movie... We watched the original Psycho after the kids went to sleep...you just can't beat a classic horror film...it actually is pretty creepy even though it for
sure wouldn't be rated R now a days.

su .
making shirts, and Linnea sporting her finished shirt. You can't really see it but it has a pumpkin and glow in the dark mummies on it.

Finally the big day arrived...And then the fun food came out. We have a tradition for Halloween we have pumpkin pancakes for breakfast with apple cider syrup. Unfortunately this year I forgot the apple cider to make the syrup, so anyways we went without the special syrup. For dinner I made "gutsy pumpkins" You just carve a jack-o-lantern face in an orange bell pepper and stuff it with spaghetti...super cute. A funny story Linnea came into the kitchen when I had finished with the peppers and I said "look nea, we're going to eat some pumpkins." she walked right up to the counter and took a huge bite out of one...I thought she really liked a raw pepper at first then it hit her and she spit it right out on the floor!!!! Funny girl. Anyways we ended with a fun night of trick-or-treating. Linnea actually seemed to have more fun handing out candy. What a fun season I absolutely love the holidays and it is killing me not to bust out the Christmas tree right now. Maybe next week :)

Kids

well I am finally updating. Here are some updates on the kiddos. sorry some of the picturesb turned.

LINNEA:

Nea has changed. She officially is my little girl not baby girl any more...very bitter sweet. I look forward to all the new changes, but still can't get over the fact how quickly kids really do grow up. She has started a pre-preschool with some little neighbor friends twice a week for an hour. It is adorable to listen to her randomly singing the ABC song. She loves learning, one night she just insisted I read her Big Bird shape book like five times. I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing her grow and develop into own person. She is more independent than ever. I am constantly reminded that she can "do things hersself" :) She even tries to buckle herself in the car...needless to say it means loading the car takes and extra ten minutes, but it's fun to watch her detemination. She has increased her obsession with horses even more, if that is possible. She sleeps with 100 animals I swear every night piled all over her little body and each one must be accounted for as part of the bed time routine. She is constantly playing with her toy horses and I love to watch her talk for them and really show her imagination it is adorable. She loves Disney movies and is really looking forward to going to "big Cinderella's house" in a few weeks (aka. Disneyland). One of Nea's greatest accomplishments these past few weeks is she is now officially POTTY TRAINED!!!! It literally took about 5 days and she is sleeping through the night dry and naps it is AWESOME! Buying the two sets of diapers was really denting the budget. Linnea is such a bright spirited girl, she can't talk to someone without bouncing up and down. I need to work on patience some days, but most days I can't get enough of this independent, tender hearted red-head.....we love you sweet girl

ANDREW:

look how much he has grown

This little man has really grown over the last little while. He is sure developing his personality. He will smile at you then quickly hide his face and be shy. He loves, loves, to be on his tummy. He is rolling all over the place and really trying to get on his knees. He can sit by himself now and play which is a beloved landmark for me...I love to be able to just plop them down and have them be happy cause they can see. He loves his sister....especially her hair (which she doesn't always appreciate) He is almost 6 months old can you believe it! He is super mellow, but he can let you know very quickly when you aren't paying enough attentio to him. He loves to be held and cuddled, such a sweet man. He loves his Daddy because he is super silly and loves to wrestle with him. He tries to eat everything and many times we will see him face plant chasing the carpet :) He is slowly taking to solid foods, he really is so picky I can't believe it. He loves bottles now which is such a relief for me as many of you know that was quite the struggle. He is so curious and loves to look at everything. You can almost see his little mind working to figure this world out. Andrew's newest accomplishment is...he cut his first tooth this weekend!!!! Yay...this little stinker has been playing with him for two months and it cut through yesterday!!!! He cut his tooth alot earlier than Nea. We love you baby boy!

I am amazed at how different my two kids are. I am so grateful to get the chance to get to know them and be their mommy!!!!
